Following a rigorous independent audit, ctrlio’s mobile price comparison service has been awarded Ofcom accreditation. This means visitors can trust that ctrlio’s service provides comparisons that are accurate, transparent, comprehensive, up-to-date and accessible.
Launched in 2015, ctrlio provides information for consumers to compare the costs of mobile services.
- comparing deals from 12 service providers and 22 different retailers, with a total of almost 300,000 deals being updated 3 times a day
- only sorting deals according to price, avoiding the deceptively named ‘recommended’ sort ordering preferred by many other sites, so that customers really see the best deals for them
- providing an offline comparison service for those who find using websites difficult, via their phone line
By entering their current spend, customers can see the annual savings they can expect if they switch to a new deal. For the average UK customer, using 250 minutes, 150 texts and 1GB data a month, typical savings are over £200 a year. ctrlio also provide a reminder service for customers who want the latest deals that match their needs to be sent to them when their current contracts are coming to an end.
Lindsey Fussell, Director of Ofcom's Consumer Group, said:
"Price comparison websites play an important role in helping people navigate the market and choose the best deal for them. Ofcom's stringent accreditation scheme makes sure that the information provided by these sites is accurate, comprehensive and transparent."
Dominic Strowbridge, Chief Product Officer ctrlio, said:
"Ofcom’s accreditation is a proud moment for us and reassures our customers that ctrlio provides a trustworthy mobile price comparison service. The ctrlio service is also the first accredited by Ofcom that is designed primarily for use on a mobile device, so customers can check out the best deals wherever and whenever they want."
